1). Halon Bay
Located in the Quan Ninh region of Vietnam, Halong Bay is one of the most popular tourist destinations. There are about 1600 small limestone islands in this area. Geologists speculate that they may have been created as a result of climate changes over thousands of years. Parts of some sea creatures that lived on earth in the distant past have also been found in the limestone islands located in Halon Bay. Various tools used by early humans have also been found on those islands. As such, Halon Bay is a place of historical importance.
There are many caves in the area around Halon Bay. Among them, the Hang Sang Sot cave located on Bo Hon Island is special. The cave discovered by the French in 1901 is known as the Cave of Wonder. People who come to this beautiful tourist town prefer to engage in boat rides.
Another attraction is visiting the beautiful limestone islands. One of the most beautiful natural creations in the world, this is a place of high value. 2). My Son Temple Complex
In the My Son area of Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, there is a temple complex that includes centuries-old Hindu religious shrines. The temple complex was built in the 4th century AD and fell into decline in the 13th century AD. This temple complex was rediscovered in 1898 after passing away for many centuries.
It was the French explorer Camille Michael. A year later, members of the EFEO scholarly society of France joined together and began to study the inscriptions of the Myson temple complex. After that, they made public the historical information about My Son Temple. Later this temple complex was renovated with the support of France, Germany and Poland.
There are 20 temples here which are believed to have been built with bricks or sandstone blocks. King Bhadravarman who reigned from 380 to 413 AD built the hall with a Shiva lingam to worship Lord Shiva and is the oldest building here. Religious buildings built by kings like Sambuvarman and Vikrantavarman are also seen here.
During the Vietnam war between 1955-1975, some buildings in this temple complex were destroyed. The destroyed buildings were later restored. My Son temple complex is a historically important place. As such, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1999.
3). Detian Falls
Detian Falls, which lies across the Sino-Vietnamese border, is a must-see for many tourists visiting Vietnam. Also known as Ban Jiok, this waterfall is created by the Guichun River. This 200 meter wide, 70 meter high waterfall has 3 main parts.
They are called the upper part, the slope part and the lower part. The water that falls down like this joins a large water pool located at the foot of the waterfall. You can see this waterfall well from the water pool.
It is a common sight to see tourists in bamboo boats come close to this waterfall and have a good time. Many people also like to bathe in the wonderful water pool at the foot of the waterfall. During the period from April to November, considerable amount of rain falls in this area. Therefore, the beauty of Detian Falls increases even more.

4). Kuchi Tunnel System
It was mentioned above in this article that there was a US-Vietnam war between 1955-1975. During that war, there were fierce battles between the Vietnamese forces and the American forces. The Kuchi Tunnel System was created to provide security for the Vietnamese military and civilians back then. Between 1946-1954 there was a war between France and Vietnam. During that era, Vietcong guerrillas started working on this tunnel system.
5). Pong Na-Ke Bang National Park
Pong Na-Ke Bang National Park is located in the area around the Annamite Mountains in Quang Binh Province, Vietnam. In 1991, Ho Khan, a local tourist, discovered a cave system in this area that is millions of years old. So this area got everyone’s attention. 10 years later, in 2001, Pong Na-Ke Bang National Park was established with an area of 85,754 hectares. The oldest Karts system in Asia is located in the caves found here which are 400-500 million years old.
Son Doong, the largest cave in this cave system, is 5 kilometers long. Apart from the caves, beautiful lakes and mountains can be found in the national park. The best time to visit this is between March-May. At that time, there is a milder climate around the national park. Considering the importance of Pong Na-Ke National Park, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2003.
