Sometimes you need a weekend to regenerate the soul and recharge the batteries. It has a great destination…Lakeside. Lakeside? you say Besides rocks and horses, what is in Laches? Of course, just north of Lakeside, nestled in a scenic valley, is the Barona Valley Ranch Casino.
Berona Valley Ranch: Hotel
After traversing the mountains and the sharp curves of the Wilkt Kanjan road, you reach a quiet place in the Berona Valley.
When you enter the resort, you immediately feel the feeling of the property. The hotel is located just east of the casino and is architecturally impressive and beautiful. A quick and friendly check-in is a look at the golf course to our sixth pool. Barona’s room was one of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in. I’m a standard-yet-tasteful top-tier piece of furniture with pictures of the valley on the walls. Our bedroom had a small sofa and the bathroom had a bath and shower. All Barona rooms have access to ballrooms, a beautiful plus and a beautiful view of Barona Creek Golf Course and the surrounding valley. I never felt like I didn’t know I was minutes from my front door – it felt like I was taking a plane ride. Although the pool area is located in front, it was not cold enough to use in my shelter.
To reach the casino, you pass through the corridor on the second floor and choose another floor if you prefer less outside noise.
Of course, the casino is the main attraction of the Barana Valley Ranch, and it certainly does not disappoint. The interior of the casino, the comfortable hotel is filled with noisy slot machines, interesting tables and casino enjoyment with many functions, flocks (chickens, a feature with water wheels, a cereal).
Unlike the tiered decks of Visayas and Saiqua, Barona’s 310,000-square-foot casino floor is wide open and more Lazarus-like. Now, I’m the first to not gamble much. But I was happy to make fun of myself at arm’s length. My time (over time) to find the machine (because of a state law like other Indian casinos, Barana Laga offers a variation of global roulette tables). When we got tired of the sensory discomfort, we turned things down at the bingo hall. It’s really a lot of fun. Barona invented a simple but fast casino war among 70 tables with 2,000 games of all kinds and 10 games. A war of children’s playing cards does not require much thought or calculation than a casino war – the luck of the draw. But it’s fast and fun. The two tables always attracted a large crowd of players and spectators.

Of course, whether you are in an Indian casino or in Las Vegas, the main dish in any place is the buffet. Never a big buffet – the food always seems a little fast and lacking – I have experienced a barona’s golden house buffet biscuit, one of the best buffets in the casino, casino or catini casino. The ranch buffet offers a 6-course buffet featuring Italian, Mexican, Chinese, American, a rotisserie station and a Mongolian grill, as well as a soup and salad station.

By far the Golden House has the best dessert buffet anywhere. Unlike delicious food that looks more delicious than it tastes, Golden House tastes exactly like their desserts. A better bet in cooking is Feisty Kate’s burgers: their burgers are tasty, meaty and fresh. Other choices are the upscale Barona Oaks Steakhouse and the Asian-style Hoan Noodle Shop.
Berona Sand Ranch: Shiny
My stay at the Barona Nimner Ranch and Casino was one of the most enjoyable vacations I have ever had at a hotel anywhere.
The hotel staff is sophisticated and the rooms and facilities are all first class. The property is carefully furnished inside and out, and the golden decoration brings good luck. The casino is more spacious and less claustrophobic than other Indian casinos and offers a wide range of gambling for every level of comfort. Close to downtown San Diego is Barana Valley Ranch. It’s made a weekend getaway. In fact, it’s tempting to take it back home to retrieve some items you forgot to have close by. But I resisted. Because it will destroy the feeling of “abduction”. Note that the hotel only serves Barona liquor with room service. But you’ll be so relaxed by the sit-down atmosphere that you won’t find it convenient for a cold drink.
