Being in a healthy environment every day is a blessing in one sense. Even so, no matter how happy and healthy we are, our mind is tempted to try scary risky things. That’s why many dangerous games have become popular in western countries. While there are bungee jumping, sky diving, paragliding, roller coasters etc. as sports, tourists are tempted to find more dangerous places and experiences. Let’s see some of them.

1. Storm chasing

There are regions in America where tornadoes occur frequently. Because they occur more frequently, weather forecasts now provide early warning of tornadoes. With that, more people move away from the tornado to escape the tornado and save their lives and property. But few people pay tens of dollars to watch the tornado and go to the area where the tornado occurs. With the development of meteorology, it is an advantage for most of the people to be able to tell about accidents in advance. Through that, the storm chasers also get an advantage.

2. Roads to risk

Some of the roads in mountainous regions like Nepal and Chile are extremely dangerous. When traveling on the roads of Madhaak, which runs at a height of almost 5000 meters above the sea level of the world, vehicles like lorries and buses that have rolled down look like small cashew shells. So for the people living in these provinces, the journey is a bitter one. But there are tourists who enjoy the risk by going on these risky roads during the rainy season when there is snow.

3. Climbing volcanoes

Krakatoa is an Indonesian volcano. This volcano sometimes emits smoke. There are tourists who pay a lot of money to take photos when the smoke slowly blows out. And there are people who prepare those trips. Visiting active volcanoes, not only in Indonesia, but also in countries where there are volcanoes, has now become a program that attracts more and more tourists.

4. Terrorist Risk Zones

Ordinary people do not want to go to Afghanistan, Middle East Yemen, Palestine. But a group of dangerous tourists pursues such dangerous areas. They get to see terrorist acts and take care of people’s lives in those provinces. When visiting those provinces, sometimes you have to dress up in clothes related to that region. For example, if a woman wants to go to the war fronts in Afghanistan, they have to dress in black dresses and go like local women.

5. Radioactive environments

There are tourists who flock to Ukraine to visit the Chernobyl power plant. Although this region is a dangerous region, there are people who bring tourists to these places for various illegal ways. It is now possible to visit this place officially. Still, it’s a risk. A higher-than-normal radioactive environment still exists around the Chernobyl power plant. In this way, countries like Japan also have cities that have been destroyed due to radiation. Even though sneaking to visit those places is a serious risk, some people resort to them.

6. Snow climbing

The Himalayas are a special place in terms of snow climbing. A large number of people visit Mount Everest in the Himalayas every year. Not only Everest, there are snow mountains in Switzerland, Pakistan, India, America and New Zealand. Apart from climbing these snow mountaineers, they have to face blizzards, bad snow showers etc.

7. Dangerous waterfalls and dungeons

In Sri Lanka too, some people who went to take risks in places like Ravana Falls, Nil Diya Pokuna, fell victim to the risks in those places and died. But there are tourists all over the world who are drawn to waterfalls and underworlds in that way. Some shrines in China are located on great mountain peaks. To access them, you have to go slowly through the mountains and underworld. So in these places, during the rainy season, even when there is bad weather, some people go to travel experiences with the aim of taking risks.

8. Dangerous diving

Although diving is a good hobby, the risk varies depending on where you dive. When a group of people got stuck in a cave on the border of Thailand and Myanmar, even a well-experienced diver who dived there lost his life. In the country of Mexico, there is a 350 km long, 21 meter high rock cave. Parts of that rock cave sometimes collapse. Still, people go to dive in those places. Arthur C. who came to Sri Lanka 60-70 years ago. In that way, Clarke also dived in dangerous places in Sri Lanka.

When going to take risks in these risky areas, there are often people who are well used to that direction and that experience. So we have to pay a certain price to get their support. Otherwise, if we enter an unknown risk zone and gain experience, it may end in disaster.
