This charming cottage, inspired by idyllic tree houses, reflects the personality and lifestyle of model, entrepreneur and designer Ines de la Fressagne. The muse of fashion and icon of elegance, in collaboration with the firm Mobalpa, has recalled her childhood to give “The dream of Ines”, as this project has been called. “When I hear the word ‘cabin,’ joyful, childhood things always come to mind. I know that, although I am an adult who has learned a lot and evolved, my childhood is still decisive and feeds my work. This cabin may be a childhood dream,” explains Ines. The idea was to create a comfortable and comforting space at the same time, in his image and likeness, a true ode to childhood dreams and tree cabins.
In just 22 square meters Mobalpa has designed a furniture program that takes advantage of every last millimeter, playing with volumes and wood as the protagonist. As in a kind of custom origami in this mini-house different environments coexist in three levels of floor that create compartments and accentuate the cabin effect. The spaces at different heights, with stairs and mezzanines, are skillfully intertwined with each other giving rise to several different uses in which the ubiquitous wood and touches of color create a common thread between the different uses.
As Ines de la Fressange comments, the utmost attention to a job well done, to details and to what is made to measure are several of the premises that the designer shares with the Mobalpa firm. “It is the symbol of quality and the technicality of know-how.”
